Welcome to Quake Modding (quake.by). By accessing or using this website you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the site.

1. About the Service

Quake Modding is a community portal for indie game developers and modding enthusiasts. The site provides news, tutorials, documentation, file downloads, a forum, a gallery, and social features such as a shoutbox and private messaging.

2. Account Registration

  • You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
  • You may not create accounts with usernames that are offensive, misleading, or impersonate another person.
  • One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent bans or restrictions is prohibited.
  • The site administration reserves the right to suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms.

3. User-Generated Content

Users may post content including forum posts, comments, shoutbox messages, profile comments, tutorials, and file uploads. By submitting content you:

  • Confirm that you own the content or have the right to share it.
  • Grant Quake Modding a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and distribute your content on the site.
  • Retain ownership of your original content. You may request its removal at any time by contacting the administrator.
  • Agree not to post content that violates our Community Rules.

4. Intellectual Property

  • Game assets, trademarks, and copyrighted materials referenced on this site belong to their respective owners.
  • Mods, tools, and source code shared on the site are provided under the license specified by their respective authors. If no license is specified, all rights are reserved by the author.
  • The site design, logo, and original editorial content are the property of Quake Modding.

5. Downloads and Files

  • Files available for download are provided "as is" without warranty of any kind.
  • The site is not responsible for any damage caused by downloaded files. Users download files at their own risk.
  • Uploading malicious software, viruses, or files that infringe on intellectual property rights is strictly prohibited.

6. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the site, other accounts, or server infrastructure.
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access the site without prior written permission.
  • Overload the site with excessive requests or perform denial-of-service attacks.
  • Upload or distribute malware, exploits, or harmful code.
  • Circumvent security measures, rate limits, or access restrictions.
  • Use the site for any illegal activity.

7. Privacy

  • The site collects the minimum data necessary to operate: username, email address, IP address (for security logging), and browser user agent (for session validation).
  • Passwords are stored using bcrypt hashing and are never stored in plain text.
  • Security logs (IP addresses, access records) are retained for up to 1 month and then automatically deleted.

  • Your email address is used solely for account confirmation and password recovery. It is never shared with third parties.
  • You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting the administrator.

Quake Modding is a community project run on a voluntary basis. The site and its content are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. The site owner is not liable for:

  • Loss of data, downtime, or service interruptions.
  • Content posted by users.
  • Damage caused by downloaded files or linked external resources.
  • Actions taken by other users on the site.

9. Modifications to These Terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. Significant changes will be announced via the news section. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
