Quake 1 Single-Player Recreated Inside Counter-Strike 2

KleskBY 0 9

A Counter-Strike 2 Workshop submission recreates the single-player experience of Quake 1 inside Valve's Source 2 engine. The project reproduces enemy AI, physics and player movement rather than simply recreating map geometry, which places it closer to a functional reimplementation than to a map pack.

Counter-Strike 2 exposes a Workshop tools pipeline that allows custom game modes with scripted entities and AI, and this project uses it to approximate Quake's combat loop on a modern engine. The item is distributed through the Steam Workshop and requires Counter-Strike 2.

The project is one of a recurring pattern of Quake reimplementations on host engines, comparable in intent to earlier Quake recreations in Doom, Minecraft and other moddable titles, though this one targets a first-person shooter with broadly compatible movement mechanics.
