0 5
MachineGames and id Software have released Dawn of the Machine, a free expansion for the Quake remaster timed to the game s 30th anniversary. The DLC was announced during an id Software presentation at QuakeCon 2026 and is available immediately to anyone who owns the remastered version of Quake. The expansion contains 19 all-new maps arranged as a cohesive single-player campaign, along with hidden secrets, a new soundtrack, and a new deathmatch map playable against other players or bots. Narratively, the episode places Ranger in a dimension of endless illusion, repeating the same violent cycles and dying thousands of times in an attempt to escape.Dawn of the Machine was developed by MachineGames, the studio responsible for the modern Wolfenstein series and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. This continues the studio s involvement with the Quake remaster, following its earlier Dimension of the Machine and Dimension of the Past episodes. The expansion is distributed through the existing Quake remaster on PC and console platforms and requires no additional purchase.
